I would rate this company 1 star if a lower rating were possible. Following a house fire, I was hospitalized and unable to provide authorization or sign a contract, yet work was performed without my consent and I was subsequently billed. The charges appear excessive and unjustified given that I was not in a position to approve any services. I feel this situation reflects a lack of appropriate consideration during a very difficult time. I do not recommend this company.

This winter, like many people, we had ice dam issues. We had water running into the second story, running through the walls finding its way to our first floor ceiling. What started out as a small stain soon became a much bigger problem. United came right out, searched the walls and ceilings for moisture spots, getting a better idea of what was actually going on. They set us up with industrial fans and dehumidifiers to completely dry out our walls and ceiling. One of their main goals was to completely dry out our walls and ceiling to make sure mold would not grow. They came back several times during the week that we had these fans to make sure the fans and dehumidifiers were doing their job. Checking to see if they needed repositioning and if any new “hotspots” had formed. I felt like we got great personal service and that they were truly committed to fixing our issues.

***UPDATE: While I'm not changing my rating, I do want to make it known that I received a phone call from Lucia very soon after leaving this review. She was incredibly apologetic for my experience and very understanding of my frustrations. She did not make excuses for what I went through and was open to constructive feedback I provided and that is very much appreciated.*** I'm a bit surprised to see so many wonderful reviews because unfortunately, that has been the complete opposite from my experience. We had water damage from an ice damn, United came highly recommended by some family members. I called to begin work with them, they got a mitigation crew out quickly and I assumed at that point they would go over the whole process with me. They did not. They were simply mitigation technicians who were there to set up dehumidifiers. A day or so later, someone called to schedule another person to come out and take pictures of the damage. Again, I figured at this point I'd be clued in on the process. Long story short, I had no point of contact who actually knew what the plan was for my job, I found out I was getting a new kitchen floor when the 'mitigation manager' called to schedule demo of my existing floor for the FOLLOWING DAY! I was left with contractor paper on my kitchen floor for over a month before anyone contacted me about putting down the new floor. When I inquired with the contact I finally had, I was passed along to someone else because the 'new floor' was part of the rebuild which was another person's responsibility. Once they arrived to replace the floor the team started taking up the floor they were supposed to cover over because they didn't realize the mitigation team had already removed the layer of flooring that was being replaced! Through all of this I had filed a claim with my homeowners insurance and was told United was working everything out with them. I began receiving invoices from United and the total far exceeded the reimbursement I'd already received from the insurance company AND my deductible, by $2000. When I called insurance I was told they were waiting on documentation from United. Called United and was again passed around to several people, one of whom has the audacity to tell me that part of the outstanding amount I was owed was probably my deductible. Eventually it came to light that United owed the insurance company more invoices which is why I had not received the proper reimbursement. This has been a horrible process drawn out over 5 months, extremely poor communication and process. Would not recommend United to anyone and certainly won't work with them again myself.

Our experience with United Restoration was excellent. We are so pleased with our restoration after a house fire. The workmanship is outstanding with many improvements made to our home. Gus Jara was our project manager. He was very thorough and kept us in the loop. Very responsive and addressed any and every concern along the way. Gus promised a beautiful home and he delivered!!! I would highly recommend United Restoration if you have the bad fortune of needing restoration services.

Our experience was very good. Getting the coordination between insurance carrier and United went promptly and effectively. The technician who repaired our home was also experienced. He went about his work in an orderly manner. He was able to pickup the paints locally, set up the mats and barriers quickly and clean up after himself. We are happy and well satisfied with our repairs and the recovery in general. Thank you
