Restoration 1 of The Low Country

Having my entire downstairs flooded was very stressful. But Justine, Jaylen and James were wonderful. They were very knowledgeable, efficient and so patient and supportive with my many questions and worries. I highly recommend Restoration 1.

Restoration1 did a wonderful job handling the water damage from a burst pipe in my home. The team that helped me was Justine, Jaylen, Peyton, and James. They were all professional and hard working. I feel like they had my best interest at heart. Justine in particular was out standing!

Beware. If wake up and find that your ceiling is leaking and you don't know what to do, restoration 1 will come in and give you a high pressure sales pitch to pay them the cost of your deductible without actually giving you any info or written quote about how much things will cost. I knew it was a high pressure sales situation but I didn't know what else to do so I signed the papers. The salesman Von, misrepresented what the company does. He said that if we went with this company we would get everything done and back to normal soon. It would cover drying and repairing the ceiling. Now, I have found out, after a week of drying the ceiling that removal of the damaged ceiling is all that they cover. It is my responsibility to figure out a contractor and get it actually fixed. When I spoke with an employee, they said that Von says those things because the Columbia restoration1 company cover all the services including repairs and painting. However, the low country restoration 1 doesn't. The only reason that we knew we needed to contact a contractor to fix the repairs is because they were taking the damaged ceiling out and I asked when the new ceiling was going to get repaired. I have yet to see what the itemized bill looks like, so we will see how much this actually cost. But I feel duped, and slighted. And I also think it is a horrible business practice to not have a formal pay structure that you can show a client to make them aware of the cost of the services. The only positive is that they were really fast to come in and get equipment in for the drying of the ceiling.

2nd Edit: Owner sent a description of the analysis today only after I posted this review.. I called SC Labor & Licensing Regulations office and confirmed this company is operating without a license. Beware. Edit: Owner below is trying to tell me they never have record and am reviewing the wrong company. I attached my invoice for any skeptics. Paid $2,500 deductible upfront to Restoration 1 of the Low Country for a ceiling patch repair. They collected payment, confirmed the job and no contracted repair work was performed. I have all payments, receipts, and communication documented. Filing complaints with the BBB and SC Attorney General. Do not pay this company upfront before work is completed. I spoke with Von the owner and Amanda at the front desk before all communications went silent after being charged the invoice below.

Never did I think I would ever need Restoration 1; however, the morning of October 29, 2025, God had other plans. While standing in my kitchen on the first floor, I heard water moving through the ceiling. Suddenly, water burst through the ceiling. My first call was to a plumber to turn the water off, who then referred me to Restoration 1. After talking to Amanda, who said she was sending someone immediately, a tech was here in less than 30 min. She held my hand every step of the way. I would only pray anyone in my situation would use this company. They were excellent, efficient, informative, and kind.
