Pure Air North Carolina - Raleigh

I called Pure Air when I discovered mold in a few different locations in our house (primarily closets). Our consultant/salesman was Freddie, and he was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. He was also available and responsive throughout the entire process. The mold was due to high moisture levels which stemmed from high moisture in the crawl. When we moved in, I knew we were going to have to encapsulate our crawl at some point. We have a manufactured home that is on a hill, and water would run (like a stream) under the house and along the inside of the foundation wall during heavy rains. Freddie suggested an encapsulation and a foundation drain running along the inside perimeter of the crawl to carry water to a sump pump that would then get it away from the house. This posed a particular challenge at our house because there are piers right next to the foundation wall, so the drain would have to run further inside from the perimeter. I discovered this once work had already began, and was quite apprehensive because the majority of the water traveled along the inside of the wall. Pure Air actually had to pause work for a couple days while they problem-solved. One of the owners came out to assess and decided to use special matting to direct water from the perimeter towards the foundation drain. I appreciate the time they took to address my concerns and I appreciate Freddie's attentiveness, but I would be very careful recommending them to anybody else. Once work began, there were numerous issues, some of which they addressed, and some were issues throughout the project. The workers treated our home like a construction site, leaving trash and tools all over the yard over the weekend. I could sort of understand leaving a mess when they were returning the very next day, but they weren't. They broke my gate latch. The foundation drain they were supposed to install was a corrugated pipe in aggregate, but when I came home and dug around a little to check, they had only buried some folded matting. Meaning, the drain that was supposed to be a 4” pipe inside a 6” aggregate trench was maybe a half inch wide and had no room for water to flow. If I had not dug it up to check, I believe they never would have installed the proper drain. To their credit, when I mentioned it, they brought a ton of people the next day to dig up the folded mat and install the proper drain. They were supposed to install thick insulation (1-2” thick) on the walls of the crawlspace, but citing a national shortage of such insulation, opted to install much thinner, perhaps 1/8” insulation, instead. The discharge on the sump pump was a joke. Some of the fittings were not glued together, and there was no check valve or union. It was also not properly strapped, only having a piece fabric tied off on one end for support. They accidentally installed a dehumidifier that I did not buy (I opted to install my own as well as run my own electrical for the dehumidifier and sump pump), but even when they came to uninstall it, they left trash and pieces of the equipment on the inside and outside of the crawlspace. To their credit, the encapsulation looks phenomenal. The plastic and taping is good. I do still have some water pooling after repeated heavy, heavy rains, but I need to emphasize how much rain it takes to get water into the crawl now as well as how bad the water was when they started. The moisture levels in the house have also dropped substantially. Overall I would not use them again, and I'd recommend any future customers to check their progress daily.

We had water remediation issues caused by our plumber. David Brooks was sent late evening and dealt with the issues with so much empathy and detail. He really left my wife and I wishing we knew about your company sooner, absolute credit to the company!

Pure Air came out to put up a containment wall as we begin a huge renovation on a home that we will be living in while the work is being done. They were in and out quickly and were very informative about how the process works. Now we can start the renovation without significant dust and particles in the spaces we are living in.
