DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY I had flood damage in June 2025 caused by another business. The business contracted Paul Davis to handle the restoration project. They were quick to tear away my bathroom and remediate the water damage, but didn't follow through to put it back together. I contacted Paul Davis multiple times and left messages to see what was going on, but didn't hear back. I had to constantly reach out to them for information because I waited lengths of up to a few weeks without communication. When I was dealing with the insurance company, even they were wondering why this case was open so long and frankly its embarrassing. I signed the contract for Paul Davis to start the job in January 2026. The company had months to plan and purchase the necessary materials, but they still managed to mess up the order and further delay the project. They could have given us options ahead of the contract being signed so they could execute upon signature, but didn't put any thought into how they could finish this job effectively. After talking to the owner, things did seem like they were moving along, but that momentum died quickly. I didn't get an accurate timeline on how long this project was going to take so I could plan my work schedule. I don't understand why I have to reach out to a business so many times to get information. Additionally, my wife and I had to take time off work on short notice to accommodate when they could work because of last minute cancellations. The company had no respect for our time. There was no sense of urgency to get the job done and an absolute lack of attention to detail. They finished the job in March 2026. The workers were nice and quality is pretty good, but leadership needs a tune up and the business needs an overhaul for process improvement and managing timelines. Don't engage in business with them and save yourself the headache. No one should be paying anywhere close to what competitors are charging if you decide to choose this company. To put the timeline into perspective, on my commute to work, there's a house that got a standalone 3 car garage built in the length of time that I was dealing with Paul Davis to replace flooring in my basement (9 months).

Where do I begin? This has been the worst experience of my life. We had a major water leak from our roof to the basement. Mitigation took 4 days to even come to assess once we put in our insurance claim. Then took a month or more to rip apart our bathrooms yes bathrooms and partially kitchen floors. Then had made an appointment for an asbestos test which took days to come out then testing. Then we had to have abatement done which was more time in between. I have 3 dogs we had to keep them cooped up in our bedroom for hours a day and I had to take unpaid time off from work last minute multiple times because of no communication from anyone on when people were coming. Finally 2 months later we get to repairs. Our project manager was Jeremy, he sends initial email here is what your budget pick things out and send me links. I send emails and it would take a week to respond, it took my husband calling the owner to get any sort of communication out of him. Before reaching out to the owner my husband asked for tile measurements for spaces we were doing tile and we were told by Jeremy we did not need to know that only he did. Then that communication only lasted a week it went right back to not telling us when people were coming and what was being done. Mitigation was nice enough to leave us a toilet and our tub on day 1 of repairs Jeremy had both ripped out when he stated it would be last. We had to frantically pick out a tub and fixtures since those got ripped out and were unusable. He clearly did not check my items because the faucets did not have the valves needed to be hooked up in the shower so the plumber couldn’t even hook it up. I feel had he known to check it came with all needed parts and saw we would have saved that headache. We had to end up in a hotel due to no working bathrooms, but it took 2 days to get in touch with our case manager so Jeremy’s response was you should have been in a hotel already. My house was a dusty mess I am still cleaning it 2 weeks later. I have paint on my cabinets in my kitchen, paint was on my brand new shower curtain we had to throw away already, & on my windows or along the edging of the new shower tile. No clean up was done of the paint other than very big obvious signs. The new vanity has plaster collected behind it from the electrician making a hole in the wall above it. I have no clue if any of the men who came to do repairs had a license to do any of the work only the initial plumber and electrician were definitely licensed. We had no kitchen, living room, or bathrooms for 3 weeks or I should say we had a toilet. At the end Jeremy showed up to pick up the items that needed to go back & never even checked the work that was done. So he would have no idea if something wasn’t even done correctly or if a mess was left behind. I definitely do not recommend working with Paul Davis Restoration. The work came out nice, but the overall hassle and experience was not worth it. We had a budget with no communication on what we should be picking just numbers to pick up too and send me links. So, yeah never again.

Paul Davis was professional, curteous, and did an exellent job. They gave regular updates, completed the restoration promptly and were able to adjust the scope of their work as additional problems developed. The price was reasonable for the the job. All in all a pleasure to work with…highly recommended.

About Paul Davis Restoration of New Haven

Paul Davis Restoration of New Haven is a restoration provider based in the New Haven area with a business address at 18 Knollwood Drive, Clinton, CT 06413. The company focuses on water damage restoration and fire damage restoration, and it maintains round the clock availability for emergency calls. Business hours are listed as open 24 hours every day, so homeowners and property managers can expect an emergency contact option at any hour.

Water damage restoration for local property owners typically begins with an emergency response to stop ongoing water intrusion and to remove standing water. The process commonly includes moisture assessment, controlled drying and dehumidification, and mitigation steps to reduce additional damage and the risk of microbial growth. For many customers this work is essential after events like burst pipes, basement flooding, or appliance failures, because timely extraction and drying can limit the scope of repairs that follow.

Fire damage restoration generally addresses the effects of heat, smoke and soot on structure and contents. Typical restoration work involves assessing structural safety and damage, removing debris and soot, cleaning and deodorizing affected areas, and stabilizing spaces until reconstruction can proceed. This type of service often requires careful coordination to protect salvageable belongings while addressing persistent smoke odors and surface residue that can affect livability and restoration timelines.

Customer feedback collected online highlights a range of experiences. Many reviewers praise professionalism, meticulous workmanship, friendly staff interactions, and the ability to respond quickly in emergencies. Several accounts describe prompt initial triage, regular updates during work, and contractors who adjusted the scope of work as additional problems were discovered. Those positive reports often emphasize the value of timely attention when a household faces urgent water or fire damage. At the same time, some reviews point to challenges, including concerns about communication, project delays, missed appointments, and mistakes with measurements or material orders. These mixed comments suggest that experiences can vary, and that expectations around timing and updates are important to discuss up front.

The company’s Google rating of 4.6 from 133 reviews reflects a majority of favorable ratings alongside a notable number of critical experiences. Prospective customers can expect services that are positioned around emergency availability and core restoration tasks, and it is reasonable to discuss timelines, scopes of work, and communication preferences during initial conversations. For property owners coping with the aftermath of water or fire incidents, clear coordination about next steps and scheduling can help align expectations as restoration proceeds.

Overall, Paul Davis Restoration of New Haven presents itself as a 24/7 restoration resource for water and fire related losses in the New Haven area. Homeowners seeking mitigation and recovery services will find a provider that performs the common phases of restoration work, and who has earned many positive comments for workmanship and responsiveness, while also receiving some feedback about the need for stronger communication and project follow through.
