Midwest Remediation

Had a master bath shower leak. Austin Butcher of Midwest Remediation came out was very professional and provided excellent solutions and advice. Would highly recommend if you ever have the misfortune of needing the service. I know this is who I will call if this service is ever needed again.

We had a water event in a large part of our crawl. The referral to Midwest Remediation came from our plumber who we have a long standing relationship with. Of note, we are very particular about our home. Midwest did an outstanding job; in particular, James, my contact and Marvin, the on-site team lead. Marvin was kind, very capable and communicative. Each day he called to let me know his arrival time and would also let me know when he and his team were leaving for lunch and when I could expect him back. I highly recommend this company and very much recommend the team I had.

We have been very pleased with Midwest Remediation’s work on our basement. They have been prompt, thorough and very helpful. Our techs Austin and Asael were able to walk us through each step of the process, answer our questions and worked hard to make sure we were satisfied with their work. Attention to detail was excellent. The estimator who initially came out to assess the damage and make a plan (Austin B.) was also very friendly, helpful and informative. He ironed out what they would likely have to do in order to properly clear, clean and decontaminate our property to fix the damage standing sewage water had done to our basement. Everyone was extremely professional and we are grateful for their hard work.

February 2026: Had a hot water line break under our kitchen slab February 2024. The plumbing company who assisted with the plumbing repair recommended MWR. I'm sure they received compensation for it. The company is divided into two separated entities - a water damage clean up service and then a team who works to rebuild the area affected. The water damage clean up team was great. The rebuild team was terrible. Here are the reasons why: 1. Team leader for the project quit towards the end of the project leaving us no one to address concerns. 2. They hire third party contractors at the lowest cost to do most of the work. 3. They do not rebuild to like or better condition. (We specifically have flooring and trim issues we consistently have to to deal with two years since the rebuild process) 4. Their assessors are lazy in developing proper rebuild costs and paperwork to submit to insurance. They create a generic rebuild cost and then lay that over with additional "fee" quotes that are essentially padding their pocket books. 5. A rebuild process designed to take 3 months took 6 months. 6. They threaten you incessantly to pay them PRIOR to completing work. 7. It is beyond difficult to get post work items addressed. 8. Overall communication with customers is subpar. Other companies may charge more but they also provide a superior service. Go with them instead. April 2026: After the original review in February, Midwest was quick to contact us and get more details on their terrible job in 2024. After sending pictures an employee by the name of Craig contacted us to come see the repair work in our home. Once here, he apologized profusely and even had a cabinetry employee come over to concur on how to fix the issues. Craig informed my wife he would be contact with us to schedule the repair work and rectify the botched original job. Now it is late April and zero communication or scheduling. This includes multiple attempts by us to get in contact with Craig and Midwest. Again, this company is not the choice for you. Use someone else. They just cannot seem to follow through and do the job correct.

The crew was very professional and friendly. Once they arrived they quickly got to the task and finished the remediation in one day. There clean up process was very good. The finished job is excellent. Would recommend and will use again if needed.
