Kustom Disaster Restoration

I really appreciate Kustom for sending their very best to handle the water damage in my home from a faulty A/C PVC piping pipe. They sent me Will Schuelke. He is extremely knowledgeable and I'm very satisfied with his work. Thank you Kustom for sending your best. If I am in need of any water damage or restoration work again I will definitely use Kustom again and also request Will Schuelke returns.

Kustom us restoration is a great company. I needed a piece of sheetrock replacing my bathroom due to water damage. Joe Cordes the boss man came out and looked over the job. His workers Dave, curtis, and Richard were very polite and knowledgeable. They did a hell of a job. I am very pleased with the service and will use them again in the future. They were here for 3 days and cleaned up after the work everyday. They replaced my sheetrock and painted. all the walls in my bathroom. And again did an excellent excellent job. I am very happy. We are a home owner that went through a water damage claim using Kustom as the vendor to manage the process. Brian the Project Manager guided us through the entire process. Excellent communicator and very professional we would recommend them to anyone for this process!

Initially, mitigation with Daniel was amazing! My shower unit was a unique situation as it was a Mesa whirlpool all in one system with all the bells and whistles. The leak was a valve which David Gray fixed. They unhooked the drain to move the unit enough to find a leaking valve. Noted there was significant water damage on the wall behind unit and entire unit would need to be pulled to get the water dry. Daniel with Mitigation came out, dried out downstairs bath as leak went into DS bath. The upstairs would not dry under the tile or behind the unit as plumber said. My adjuster advised them "pull The unit and get The tile up and get her house dry and send me a bill, it's covered. Kustoms would not pull it. Not sure shower was covered even though my adjuster Said it was covered. They refused as they wanted it in writing. They never sent a bill to get it in writing. Rod, told me to order a tub and surround and he ordered it. Rod also said he was sending a tile person out for me to pick tile. It never happened. He fibbed. He never ordered anything. From June 3rd to July 10th, nothing was done, I kept being told lies. Finally I spoke to Hannah (sweet person) she told me my property was assigned to Joe. I had not heard from Joe, never knew who he was until weeks later. July 11th they demote my bath upstairs. The wall behind shower was still soaked exactly where the plumber Said it was. For 5 weeks it sat wet and wet under tile, although I spent $921 to fix leak. There was no more leak. Just water damage. After pulling shower and they saw water damage I had been telling them plumber found (it's in plumbers bill) Joe tried to do some damage control and say plumbing was bad and it was still leaking. No, it wasn't or entire downstairs would've been soaked again. There was no leak, they just never pulled my shower for mitigation. They sent estimate to USAA and got paid. USAA allowed me $4079 to put back in what I wanted. Quite a good amount to get comparable to what I had. Total allowance to Remove and replace was right at $5000. In parenthesis USAA had my cost to buy out if that was $4079. Joe kept trying to get me to.irder cheaper stuff than what I had. Some peal down floor when I had ceramic tile. I had to call USAA numerous times and Contract Connections. There was money left so I got a toilet, mirror and light. Still money left. I won't see it. There was about $700 worth of work on the estimate USAA pd that was never done at all. I stated on top of it because i didn't want my insurance Co taken advantage of. 2 meeting with Joe to get a breakdown of what I had to spend on materials and escalated to Manager. They would not give a breakdown although I had it from USAA. Joe made comments to me "technically I haven't been paid for anything yet, did you get the USAA checks?" No I did not. They were sent to Kustoms. So, work stopped until they got paid. Which they were pd BY USAA and I Sign the checks they got at end of work. To them I was a,difficult customer. No, I was just paying attention to charges NY insurance paid for that they were trying to pocket in their accounts. Overall, I did get all I wanted to put both my baths back to comparable condition. This was the Absolute worst experience I've ever been through. IMO this company is Shady. Now, as far as job and workers, they did and excellent job and Richard, Curtis and David were always so professional and kind. My Advice is to pay attention to your insurances payments and breakdown as Kustom will not give you that info. They hand you a line item with no charges at all. Only when USAA pd them and had their breakdown I saw how Shady they were. There was plenty of money left for no supplemental claim needed. Please pay attention to your insurance bill and what kustoms actually do. I gave a 3 because of the workers only. They were great.
