Husker Demo & Remediation

We had an outstanding experience with Husker Demo, especially working with Tyler and Evan. What started as a routine check on a slow leak we’d been dealing with for a long time turned into the discovery of black mold—our floorboards had been slowly absorbing water without us realizing it. From the moment they identified the issue, Tyler and Evan started with the remediation process. I truly cannot thank them enough for the care and professionalism they showed throughout the entire project. Their communication was excellent, they were always on time, incredibly friendly, and, most importantly, respectful - not just to us as homeowners, but to our home itself. We initially expected the worst - that we’d have to replace our entire floor, shower, tub area, and possibly even some walls. Instead, they took a meticulous approach, removing only what was absolutely necessary. They managed to save every single tile (not one was broken!), and we avoided replacing the tub entirely. The only item that needed replacement was the shower pan, which was the actual source of the leak. They kept the work area sealed, vented, and properly filtered at all times, and provided daily updates with photos so we always knew what was happening. I truly can’t recommend Husker Demo highly enough. Tyler and Evan went above and beyond in every way!

We were doing a simple home update and stumbled upon mold and in trying to figure out how far it went realized it was EVERYWHERE in our kitchen... our contractor friend had heard good things about husker demo and reached out to them; Within 30minutes Bryson was on site, sharing expertise and walking us through next steps. Within hours Jake the project manager had a team and they had walled off the kitchen and started hospital grade air purification in our home. Bryson and Jake answered all of our questions promptly, preofessionally and in an empathetic and caring manner. The real MVP was the site lead, Tyler. He was daily in our home that week, working, checking in, communicating with us in a timely and professional manner. Having strangers in your home isn't always the best feeling, especially with littles, but Tyler has a peaceful, professional and steadfast demeanor, listened attentively to any concerns, appropriately communicated to the project manager and worked steadily to finish the remediation which involved part of our main floor and down into the basement. Tyler even worked on the weekend to minimize the amount of time our house was torn apart. Can't say enough great things about our experience having him be the point person. Every crew member that came in with Tyler was well groomed, polite and professional. Through a very unexpected and undesired situation having been connected with this business was an absolute godsend. Can't recommend them enough! Super positive experience!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND TLDR- Husker Demo is amazing. They listen and work with you. Cannot recommend them enough. The novel- We had a house fire last year. Nothing major, just the kitchen, but enough to disrupt our lives for 4 months. I was lucky and was home in time to have the fire extinguished. Just as the fire department was leaving, another restoration company was there waiting. They asked to come in and gave me a sales pitch. I was still reeling from what had happened. A good friend stopped by, they had lost their house in a fire a few years ago, were in the home construction business and warned me away from the first company. I have to admit now that it’s awful to try to sell your services when someone’s house is still smoking. Our insurance company had a restoration business they recommended so I allowed them to come out. I was working from home (no one advised us it was unhealthy to live here still) and overheard them arguing over what type of flooring was. They tried to tell me it was laminate. I realized I had to be more involved than I was. I looked up restoration in a moms Facebook group and Husker Demo was recommended by several people. I called them and set up an appointment. Bryson came by and was way much more thorough. He measured water content in several areas of the kitchen, took air quality measurements and then recommended we find someplace else to live. He said the air quality was very poor and he wouldn’t let his family live in this. I immediately called insurance and they confirmed we could get alternative housing. I was planning on living here while they repaired the kitchen. I had no idea how bad the whole house was. Bryson pointed out all the soot all over everything – that I hadn’t noticed because it was over everything so nothing stood out. My husband was at work and Bryson offered to stop by after work to talk it over with my husband. He took his personal time to help us! We had several issues with our insurance company – they couldn’t seem to get a third party adjuster to do their job. Byrson, and the team were so patient with us and our insurance company. They cleaned the house and got it ready to repair before the insurance company got themselves organized. There were weeks where nothing could be done because we were waiting on insurance. When the reconstruction happened, I had a million questions, requests and ideas. I know I had to be their most annoying customer but they never let on that I might be. They answered all my questions, had great suggestions and my house looks amazing. This has taken me so long to leave a review because I can’t capture how great they were and how much I recommend them.

Please exercise caution. It appears there was an intent to continue work on my home without first identifying the origin of the mold issue. I felt it was necessary to halt the project. I was unable to obtain an itemized invoice detailing the costs of the services rendered; instead, I received only a list of measurements and the areas they claimed to have "treated," despite the mold remaining visible and seemingly untreated. I regret that I cannot share my bill and photographs for the benefit of prospective clients. We have since resolved the problem independently, and it proved successful, but I strongly advise careful consideration before engaging their services.
