The entire experience with my mom's house was really wonderful! Barb is just amazing & John & Ashton were on top of everything, even down to all the extras that they did. Everyone in the team needs a pat on the back - so much care from start to finish. I knew they would do a great job so that's why I didn't hesitate to recommend them to fix my mom's house top to bottom. And they excelled my expectations! 😘

First Response is a phenomenal local company in Hurricane that does it all! Electric, plumbing, and even more. Due to how close they live to my house, I had a simple electric issue that they fixed with no charge, and got here within 10 minutes of calling. They are reasonable people who will work with you on the price, and extremely kind and respectful. Communication with them is transparent and honest, and simply way better than bigger companies that have massive billboard advertisements everywhere. They even solved a strange electricity case of something tripping the breaker, where there was actually a wire going outside underground that kept on shorting with every hard rain, and only charged a diagnosis fee (about $300). As they are a small company, I also understand they are limited in their manpower. When my request (nonurgent) was unanswered for a week, they reached back out to me and apologized as they also handle any emergencies, and sent someone the next day in the evening to get the job done. Regardless, I will default to these hardworking people in the future for any contractor work!

I will recommend First Response to everyone I know. They completed everything to my satisfaction and went beyond what I expected. The guys were polite, professional, cleaned up when they were done and made sure to leave things in perfect order. I’ll definitely call them the next time I need anything done!

I had lived in my house with relatively no issues until Dec 13, 2025. That night, while I was out, the water filter in my refrigerator broke pouring a steady stream of water into the refrigerator and out onto the floor in my kitchen, living room, hallway, closets, bathroom and office...basically nearly my entire home. I saw this was not going to be something I could repair....my floors were hooved up and sunken in in places....so I called my insurance agent. They told me to call someone and recommended 1st Response. I called afterhours and Steve came out the next morning. He quickly assessed the severity of the damage and called in a crew. I was overwhelmed and went out on my sunporch and let them do what needed to be done. Within a few hours they had packed up the contents of my kitchen, living room & closets and my appliances, lower kitchen cabinets and living room furniture to be put in storage and started "chasing the water damage" by ripping up flooring. They brought in heaters, blowers & dehumidifiers to dry up water abd putting down a microbial solution to stop any mold from growing. They tested for asbestos in the flooring and scheduled remediation for that. They worked with my insurance adjuster to ensure the very best outcome for me. When the reconstruction started they were considerate of my schedule and communicated well. The work they have done is incredible. They treated my house like their own in making sure nothing was left undone. In many ways my house is in better shape than it was before the water damage. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better they proved me wrong. They brought back all my cabinets, countertops, appliances, living room furniture and box after box of contents. They cleaned my house, hooked up appliances, placed my furniture where I wanted it, unpacked all the boxes and put things back into cabinets & closets. They even hung all my wall decor that had been taken down during the demo & rebuild. They guided me through the various stages of working with my insurance company (Josh with State Farm) who was also outstanding and my bank City National for holding the insurance company payouts in a separate account and issuing checks as invoices were provided. All of this was done with compassion, kindness and a smike.....not to mention highly skilled workmanship. I am forever grateful to Steve, Barb, John, Mike, Mikey, Amanda, Rayce and many others from 1st Response. They are truly a 1st Class business.
